The Watchmakers' Handbook - Claudius Saunier

The Watchmakers' Handbook was intended as a workshop companion for those who are engaged in watchmaking and the allied mechanical arts. 

Written also as an extension of Saunier's Treatise on Modern Horology, within which, reference to the Handbook is made. 

The book provides excellent, detailed guidance on the various operations involved in watchmaking prior to 1900, many are still relevant today, some not so much...

For example when hardening steel, if a glass hardness is required, the book recommends a bath of opium or cyanide as the cooling medium.

This an 1881, First Edition of the English translation by Julien Tripplin and Edward Rigg. The condition is good for being almost 140 years old. All pages are free and legible and all 14 plates are intact.
